About ANTA
Who we are, where we came from, and what we stand for.

Our Story
Established on 1 October 2008, the Association of Nepal Terai in Australia (ANTA) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organisation. ANTA was founded by community members who wanted a dedicated home for Teraian identity in Australia — a place to preserve language and culture, support one another, and build genuine friendships across the country.
Since then, ANTA has grown into a welcoming network of Terai families and individuals who gather for cultural celebrations, support each other through life’s challenges, and give back to communities in the Terai region of Nepal.
Our Mission
To promote the Teraian community’s identity, awareness of languages, and cultural heritage — while uniting Nepalese Terai people across Australia in a spirit of mutual support and shared belonging.
“Your involvement matters — every member strengthens our community.”
Our Nine Objectives
